The InterQuality Final Conference will be held on 24 April 2014 in Brussels, Belgium.

InterQuality Project - Not more spending, but smarter spending!

Spending more on healthcare does not necessarily translate into improved quality, effectiveness and access to healthcare services. Resources wasted through poor management could be well spent on drugs and new equipment, or directed towards the reduction of the waiting lists.

With this in mind, the 'International Research on Quality in Healthcare’ (INTERQUALITY) project funded by the EU has been set up. Based on administrative and survey data, the research has been conducted in five European countries and the United States. Development of scientifically validated tools will help decision makers select the most appropriate financing mechanisms for healthcare systems, responding to needs and opportunities at hand.

The purpose of the conference is to present the main findings of the Project and their health policy implications, with a focus on the recommended financing models for different areas of healthcare. The conference will provide an excellent opportunity to capture feedback from stakeholders and stimulate discussion on key issues in healthcare financing.

This conference will be staged by the InterQuality Consortium, under the auspices of Professor Marek Krawczyk, MD, PhD, Rector of the Medical University of Warsaw, and Adam Struzik, the Mazovia Provincial Governor.

The conference is intended for healthcare stakeholders including policy-makers, representatives of EU Member States, EU and national agencies, international organizations, representatives of patients and medical professionals, as well as for experts, researchers and academics.
